February isn’t just a month dedicated to sending Valentine’s to loved ones. It’s also American Heart month. During this whole month, people try to raise awareness about the importance of keeping your heart healthy. In the United States, the leading cause of deaths is heart disease. Around 610,000  Americans die of a heart disease each year.

However, not everything is negative negative because most heart diseases are preventable. There are simple changes that people can do to live a healthier life. One of the benefits of chiropractic care is helping prevent heart disease.

What causes a heart disease?

A heart disease forms when an artery or blood vein gets blocked by  plaque. This plaque is formed from cholesterol and fatty molecules. When there is a blockage in an artery or blood vein then it will prevent nutrients and oxygen from making it to your heart.

While there are factors that can be prevented to develop a heart disease,  other factors are not preventable. . Two factors that are out of control are heredity and age. If there is a family history of heart disease, then that person is at a much higher risk. After a certain age a man and woman is  more likely to get heart disease.

  • High Cholesterol & blood pressure

  • Unhealthy eating

  • Being inactive
